This year, two key sporting/recreational events are kindly supporting the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation (PPBF): the Sure Guernsey Marathon and the Saffery Rotary Walk.
Sure Guernsey Marathon
Date for your diary: Sunday 2nd April
Split into three categories, this community race is incredibly popular and inclusive. The main Marathon is open to anyone over the age of 18, covering just over 26 miles of beautiful Guernsey coast, lanes and valleys. You also have the option to take part in the following:
The Mourant Relay Race – take part in teams of 2 or 5. For teams of 5 runners, there are a number of Industry Cups up for grabs, making this a great opportunity to get together with colleagues and represent your business.
The Mile – this special course is open to anyone over the age of 6. Although it covers a shorter distance, you will still be able to enjoy the community spirit on the day. Additionally, there will be a Schools Shield and a Sports Club shield awarded to schools with the most entries and clubs with the fastest time.
If you’re not taking part, you can still donate here and help organisers to reach their target, or volunteer as part of the Race Crew.
The PPBF is delighted to be an official charity partner, alongside Bowel Cancer Guernsey. You can create a fundraising page when you sign up for the Guernsey Marathon, to raise funds while you prepare and train.
Please email us if you are planning to take part in the marathon for the PPBF as we’d love to provide you with a PPBF t-shirt, and share your training progress.
Date for your diary: Saturday 10th June
The Saffery Rotary Walk is one of Guernsey’s largest fundraising events. 26 charities will benefit from the money raised this year, including the PPBF. This year will mark the 25th walk which is well-known for its wonderful coastal scenery and the iconic ‘sea of orange’ that spans 39 miles. Here are some of the other ways you can get involved:
Relay Teams – get your friends, family and colleagues together. Relay teams can be made up of 4 – 7 walkers who can each choose which leg of the walk to complete.
The Guernsey Family Walk – this has been created to allow families to enjoy the event over a more measured distance. Registrations are due to open in March 2023. Keep an eye on this page for more information.
