There are so many ways to help us raise funds and enjoy yourself at the same time. Fundraising goes towards our Buy-A-Night campaign to support our compassionate housing, equipment and resources for Guernsey's Neonatal Unit and our beloved Baby Boxes. Scroll down for some inspiration.
The PPBF has a Facebook group so that members of the community can come together and receive updates/call-outs for any future volunteering opportunities. Join the group to stay up to date with the latest.
World Prematurity Day takes place annually on 17th November, which is also the PPBF's anniversary. Businesses, schools and individuals can get involved in lots of different ways. Here are just a few ideas:
- Wear purple on the day for a £2 donation
- Decorate your premises
- Display a PPBF donation pot/bucket or leaflets (get in touch if you'd like to do this - info@ppbf.org.gg)
- Host a bake sale
- Run an office raffle with clients/colleagues
- Ask your team to play 'guess who' with old baby photos
- Like, share and engage with our posts on social media
- Knit or donate purple items to our Baby Boxes
- If you're a salon, offer purple highlights or manicures for a donation
- If you work with children, incorporate purple face paint or crafts into your activities
- Make a one-off birthday donation to the PPBF - every amount helps
A Family Fun Day is also taking place from 1pm – 4pm on Saturday 18th November at Les Beaucamps High School if you would like to bring your loved ones along for our anniversary. celebrations. There will be plenty of activities, entertainment and tasty treats to enjoy during the afternoon, kindly organised by our wonderful neonatal nurses.
You might like to donate your proceeds, or a percentage of proceeds, from a specific day to the PPBF. This works particularly well for restaurants, hotels, salons and retailers. Email info@ppbf.org.gg to find out how we can support you in promoting your fundraiser to customers and the wider community.
To raise money for our compassionate housing next to Southampton Hospital, you could host a Buy-A-Night themed fundraiser with Nighty the Owl cupcakes. Click below for the recipe. This is also a great opportunity to fundraise during a 'lazy day' by spending the day in your PJs or comfy onesie. If you're working from home, then get comfy while raising funds to bring comfort to families who need it most.

You can buy items needed for our beloved Baby Boxes, for the Special Care Unit, our compassionate housing Flats or for general items which will help us support an island family in need. Just tap the button below, select your chosen item and tap add to basket.
A great way to help us raise funds is to set up an account on easyfundraising - feel good shopping and then use this to do your online shopping. We receive commission from all your shopping and it doesn't cost you anything extra.
Sponsored events, from running a marathon, to sponsored swims or even sponsored silences; getting fit or trying something new can be great fun. Please contact us if you would like to set up an online sponsorship form here on our site. We can also help with running shirts and hoodies. You could also 'Donate your birthday' by asking for donations in lieu of birthday cards or gifts.
Donations can also be made in the form of knitted items. Small teddies and fuzzy 'Nighty the Owls' are perfect additions to our premature baby boxes, as well as blankets, gloves, hats and little booties. Click below for our favourite patterns.
