Six steps to support the Saffery Rotary Walk
There are lots of ways to support the Saffery Rotary Walk and the PPBF whether you’re thinking of walking or watching
There are lots of ways to support the Saffery Rotary Walk and the PPBF whether you’re thinking of walking or watching
The Saffery Rotary Walk is fast approaching, and the PPBF is delighted to be one of 25 charities supported by this beloved community event, spanning 39 miles of Guernsey coastline. The whole ethos of the Saffery Rotary Walk is to ‘raise and distribute money to local charities who do so much for so many in our own community‘. 2023 marks the 25th event and we’ve listed six ways to get involved in the anniversary celebrations.
Event date: Saturday 10th June
You can take part in the walk as a group of up to 4 people, which is a perfect opportunity for friends and family to enjoy a day out. At just £40 per family entry, you can complete one, or both, of the final two legs of the Walk. Find out more here.
2. Take part as a Relay Team
The relay team option is available for groups of 4 – 7 people, for a fixed registration fee. This is a great option for colleagues, friends and family who can choose which leg of the walk to complete. Registration costs £140 per group. Sign up here.
3. Sign up solo
Although you’ll be signed up as an individual walker for £30, you will undoubtedly feel the community spirit along the way. More than 650 people completed the Saffery Rotary Walk in 2022, and organisers are hoping for even more walkers this year. Sign up here.
4. Give walkers a boost
Cheering from the sidelines and giving walkers some much-needed motivation during the walk is an important part of the event. If you’re unable to take part, then you can still enjoy the atmosphere, especially at checkpoints. Have a look at the route map here.
5. Make a donation
If you’re not able to take part, then you can still make a donation here. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated by all of the charities involved. Saffery Champness continues to offer financial support, meaning that all funds raised by walkers and sponsors go straight to each chosen charity.
6. Follow the Saffery Rotary Walk on social media
You can find them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Spreading the word far and wide will be a huge help as it will encourage further sign ups, donations and, of course, you can offer some words of encouragement to walkers. We’d also love to be tagged if you’re sharing a good luck message.
