Olivia Bisson was born premature at 28 weeks weighing 3lb 14oz in 2010. She was helped enormously by the PPBF charity and the healthcare team on the Guernsey Neonatal Unit. Against all odds she was a little fighter and after 6 weeks in hospital was allowed to go home.
During her time in NICU she had showed how strong she could be. Livvy continued to show this determination ever since… Ballet has been her dream since she began to walk and talk, and she attended as many weekly classes as she could from a very early age. Post lockdown Livvy was given the opportunity to audition for top UK ballet schools, gaining associate places at both Elmhurst and The Royal Ballet school. Although this involved travelling off island each weekend she took it all in her stride.
Huge Congratulations to Livvy who successfully auditioned and gained a place at Elmhurst Ballet School in Birmingham in September 2022. Her talent and determination gained her the fortunate position to be able to choose where to continue her training. This was her ambition and she was fortunate to be awarded a place out of hundreds of hopeful girls.
Livvy is living her best life, but missing dance school, friends and family in Guernsey but hopes to make them all proud. We know she’s making them proud already.
Proof that being born premature makes you a fighter and doesn’t hold you back. Well done sweetie, we’re proud of you. Her ultimate dream would be on stage somewhere representing Guernsey. We know she’ll do it 💜
