Staff from the Committee for Health & Social Care held a Festive Fun Day for the PPBF, in addition to the States of Guernsey Carol Service.
The Committee for Health & Social Care staff raised an impressive £650 from their Festive Fun Day in December 2023.
A great competition idea based on the ‘Best Decorated Door’ was arranged with lots of wonderful festive entries brightening up the office hallways at Le Vauquiedor Office.
All staff got in the spirit of the occasion and wore a Christmas jumper or other festive accessories. A cake and bake sale, where staff from across the building baked something sweet or savoury, went down so well that most of it had been demolished by lunchtime.
They held a Sweepstake, a festive Guess the Number of Baubles Competition and a Name the Bear Competition. Finally, but by no means least, the team held a fantastic Christmas Raffle with over 50 prizes being donated by the generous staff in the office.
Staff kindly voted for the funds from the festive fundraiser to be donated to the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation. Thank you so much to the whole team for all your efforts into making this fun day a huge success and for supporting the PPBF.
The Committee for Health and Social Care asked for their donation to go towards the PPBF’s Buy-A-Night campaign.
They chose to sponsor a Guernsey family with a poorly baby staying in Isaac’s Pad – one of the PPBF’s compassionate housing flats next to Southampton’s Princess Anne Hospital, for the first 10 days of January 2024.
We’re pleased to see their logo up on Isaac’s Pad’s Corporate Calendar. For more information, on how businesses can get involved please visit this link: PPBF Corporate
If you’re an individual interested in supporting the Buy-A-Night campaign, you can buy a night from £5 a month and personalise a star on your special date, for your chosen flat. Find out more about the PPBF’s Buy-A-Night campaign, here: Buy a Night (ppbf.org.gg)
Each year, the States of Guernsey hold a Carol Service at the Town Church for all members and employees of the States. The Bailiff chooses a charity to benefit from a share of the collection and this year the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation was chosen.
Jo Priaulx, co-founder of the PPBF says: “These kind donations will help the team in its endeavours to continue supporting Bailiwick of Guernsey families with premature babies or critically ill children, both on and off island. We naturally work closely with Health & Social Care staff, so it’s lovely to be supported by wider States of Guernsey teams in such fun and festive ways. Deputy Bailiff Jessica Roland is our wonderful Patron, so we have her to thank for representing the PPBF wherever she can. Earlier this year, the Royal Court also supported us through a World Prematurity Day bake sale, and we look forward to seeing some States employees at our corporate Blingo night, in 2024.”
Host-A-Night
If these events have you inspired, you can also host your own event.
Head over to the Host a Night area for ideas on how you, or your company, can host your own event and help the PPBF safeguard the future of its three home-from-home flats next to Southampton Hospital.
Funds raised will provide more safe and cosy nights for Bailiwick of Guernsey families going through difficult times.
Or, you may wish for your fundraising to go to the PPBF’s work supporting families on the Guernsey Special Care Unit (formerly Neonatal Unit).
Thank you to everyone for your kindness and generosity.
